Evidence is stored and available to anyone working on the file, either from their device or desktop computer, cutting out the need to carry CD’s and USB drives.
A province-wide rollout on how the RNC collects digital evidence is expected by early summer. With just a few taps on a smartphone, officers will be able to upload pictures, conduct recorded interviews and retrieve or share information. It’s called “Axon’s Digital Evidence Management System” and police will be using a work-issued iphone. Evidence is stored and available to anyone working on the file, either from their device or desktop computer, cutting out the need to carry CD’s and USB drives. The RNC initiated a pilot project involving 60 officers in January of last year.
