RCMP stress safety when using an ATV

    Small children must be in a booster seat on some atv models.

    Summer time means fun but it also means safety. As residents and tourists take to the ATV or boat for a day of travel, the RCMP want you to be thinking safety first. Cpl Jolene Garland says atv operators must be wearing helmets and if the machine has seatbelts, they must also be worn. She says they also have to be approved helmets and be properly fastened. Cpl Garland says small children need to be in a booster seat. She says alcohol, drugs and operating any kind of motorized vehicle does not mix well.
