The woman was transported to a nearby health centre where she was presented with a demand for a blood sample.
A 42-year-old woman was arrested Friday morning during a traffic stop on Route 430 and RCMP discovered she had an expired license, there was a warrant for her arrest, and there was crack cocaine inside the vehicle. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says she also showed signs of being impaired by drugs. At around 10:20 a.m., officers patrolling Route 430 stopped a vehicle being operating by a woman known to have an expired driver’s licence. The 42-year-old woman was also the subject of an active arrest warrant and was taken into custody by police. During the interaction, officers observed signs of impairment by drugs. A search of the driver also resulted in the location and seizure of a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine. The woman was transported to a nearby health centre where she was presented with a demand for a blood sample.
Police are waiting on the results to determine if additional impaired charges will be laid. The vehicle she was driving was seized and impounded by police, and she was released from custody with conditions to appear in court at a later date.
