Two men are facing drunk driving charges after RCMP arrested them in Carbonear this past weekend.
Police say Saturday afternoon, a 25 year-old man, who was suspended from driving as part of a current impaired driving charge, had open alcohol inside the vehicle and showed signs of impairment. He refused to provide a roadside breath sample and now faces a charge of refusing to comply with a demand.
Later that evening, shortly before 7pm., Harbour Grace RCMP stopped a car on Patrick Street. The driver, a 51-year-old man, showed signs of alcohol impairment. At the detachment, the man provided breath samples that were above the legal limit and now faces charges of impaired driving.
Both drivers were issued licence suspensions and both vehicles were impounded.
