He asked the Premier why government has not offered help. Premier Andrew Furey replied by saying they are working with those affected and could do more if the. Wakeham turned the conversation into money spent by the Premier during trips to Dubai and says the $24,000 could have helped the people of St. George. Furey committed to work with Cape St. George but could not give details of travel expenses at the time. Wakeham says since August of 2020, “the Premier’s office has spent half a million jetsetting around the world.”
