Mike Payne says this show consists of the most influential songs that have stood the test of time.
There’s bound to be a time tonight at the Rotary Arts Centre in Corner Brook. “Play it Again: An evening with the “Great American Songbook” takes to the stage 8 o’clock. A couple of the performers dropped into Bayfm for a chat with Lenny Benoit. Mike Payne says this show consists of the most influential songs that have stood the test of time. He says with a listing of close to 500 songs in the Great American Songbook, it was hard to choose. Payne is teaming up with Marcelle Boisjoli for a bit in tonight’s show. She says this is a first for her singing these songs and she has a classical ba ckrgound. Boisjoli says there will be more local talent on the stage tonight Wendy Woodland, Noah Hamilton, and Dave Bridger on bass.
