Tomorrow is National Tree Planting Day and the City of Corner Brook is celebrating with tree planting activities in three separate locations. From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. there will be tree planting at the Griffin Drive Parking Lot, Broadway (Green space across from upper Sobeys entrance), and the Centre for Research and Innovation. Then, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sustainable Development Coordinator, Kirstin Mercer, will present at the Centre for Research and Innovation on the second floor. She will talk about how Corner Brook is participating in the Canada-wide “2-Billion Trees” project, how it relates to tackling climate change and fixing biodiversity loss in our forests. These events are free to the public and open to all ages.
