Effective April 20th, residents can only water their lawns during certain times and must use a shut-off nozzle when washing vehicles.
The town of Pasadena introduced several by-laws last week dealing with water conservation, beekeeping, and fireworks. Effective April 20th, residents can only water their lawns during certain times and must use a shut-off nozzle when washing vehicles. Beekeepers must be registered with the Newfoundland Beekeeping Association, have a lot size of 700 square metres, hives have to be at least 3.75 metres from property boundaries, and can only be for personal use. Consumer fireworks are permitted during certain times on Canada and New Year’s Eve, but a permit is required for other times and an application must be submitted at least 14 days in advance. These new by-laws come with fines and/or jail time that increase after each offence. A complete list of the new regulations can be found at pasadena.ca.
