The annual Staples Stuff the Backpacks event will take place this Friday between 11-2 at the Staples parking lot.
So far, over one hundred people have registered at Vine Place in Corner Brook for help with school supplies. The annual Staples Stuff the Backpacks event will take place this Friday between 11-2 at the Staples parking lot. There will be games, a BBQ and music. Mike Kearley is with Vine Place. He says they have a general list of items that can be used in any grade like pencils, glue sticks, leads, and notebooks. Kearley says older kids in grades 7-12 have different needs; things like binders, pens, headphones, and calculators, especially in light of a recent announcement by the Department of education limiting cell phone usage in the classroom. Donations can be made anytime at Staples or Vine Place.
