Brazil says the Premier is mum and needs to realize this is our resource.

Opposition leader David Brazil called on the media today, upset over the fact that Quebec is negotiating selling our power and we don’t seem to be at the table. A deal signed in 1969 by then Premier Joey Smallwood was a legendary boondoggle. It made Quebec rich from our resources while we sank deeper in debt. That agreement expires in 2041. Opposition leader David Brazil says Quebec is now negotiating a new agreement concerning the sale of our power with Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but we’re not there. Brazil says the Premier is mum and needs to realize this is our resource. He says issues with transparency have a history in this province like the cyber attack on Health information. Brazil says it’s time to do the right thing and make sure our assets stay with us and not end up like what happened 75 years ago with the Lower Churchill.
