No further comment on a police shooting says SIRT NL

    Director Michael King said the man involved in the June 12th  police shooting was a new Canadian.

    SIRT-NL will not be releasing more details yet about a police shooting in St. John’s that claimed the life of a man. Director Michael King said the man involved in the June 12th  police shooting was a new Canadian. He says the man had been estranged from his family for a number of years. Despite extensive efforts, SIRT NL has been unable to notify next of kin. Interpol has assigned an officer to help locate the family.
