Big pharma means big opportunities.
Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says a recent trip to Boston, Massachusetts, proved to be beneficial in forming the future of biotechnology in this province. He attended the 2-day BIO 2023 International Convention and Trade Show last week, as well as Premier Furey and a delegation of 10 companies and groups from NL. Minister Parsons says it was a great networking opportunity for companies but they also had roundtable discussions about how if something is good for one region, it’s good for everybody. One example, he says is Biovectra in PEI who recently expanded to Nova Scotia and he would like to see an expansion here. Minister Parsons it was also an opportunity to hear about the issues these companies are facing and see what companies from here are showcasing. He says biotechnology is growing here and the support is available. BIO 2023 is the world's largest trade association representing biotechnology companies, academic institutions, and related organizations in more than 30 countries.
