Parks Canada is advising snowmobilers to check the latest closures in Gros Morne.

More areas of Gros Morne National Park have closed due to lack of snow cover.

Snowmobiling season dates are subject to change at the discretion of Parks Canada due to factors such as unfavourable snow or dangerous conditions, and impact to ecosystems. A reminder that even though snowmobiling permits may still be valid, Parks Canada can close areas at any time. Updated maps can be found on Parks Canada website. Snowmobilers in the area are also reminded to expect variable conditions, as bogs can have less snow cover. Remain on commonly used routes and be prepared for thin ice covered ponds. Parks Canada says to always leave a trip plan with a friend.
