An elderly berry picker was rescued by RCMP and Bonavista Bay Search and Rescue on Monday after becoming lost in the woods west of Glovertown. Shortly after 6:00 p.m. that day, police received a report that an elderly man had become lost while berry picking, was diabetic and had no provisions. Through the use of a drone, the man, who needed medical care, was located by an officer with the RCMP.  The lost man had become separated from a friend who was also berry picking.  The man was safely transported out of the wooded area and brought to hospital for medical attention. The second berry picker, who was unaware of what had happened to his friend, was brought out of the woods by police.
