Lovell is grabbing her guitar and heading to Hawke’s Bay today to play at the hotel and can’t wait to walk the beech. She usually plays Friday nights at the lounge in the Glynmill Inn.
Singer songwriter Lorna Lovell just released her 3rd album this past June on her 50th birthday. Originally a proclaimed bay girl from McIver’s, Lovells currently lives in Corner Brook. She dropped into the studio to speak with Bayfm’s Terry Boland this week. Lovell says she started songwriting during her thirties. She says “Come Home” was the first song she ever won an award for, specifically the 2023 Arts and Letters award in the singing/music category. However, she just found out she’s been nominated for an award with Music NL as Indigenous Artist of the Year. Lovell is grabbing her guitar and heading to Hawke’s Bay today to play at the hotel and can’t wait to walk the beech. She usually plays Friday nights at the lounge in the Glynmill Inn.
