One lucky boy or girl gets to spend time with Leif the Lucky during the ten days of Corner Brook Winter Carnival fun
For 19 years now, children in K-6 at Corner Brook schools have been vying for the title of Leifling to represent Winter Carnival. One lucky boy or girl gets to spend time with Leif the Lucky during the ten days of events. Judges are looking for a spirited individual who enjoys winter, people and especially, carnival. Leif the Lucky tells Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, this all started as a trial project. Contestants are required to create their own viking costume with a helmet, shield and a sword.
Today is the last day to register and parents can call Leif, a.k.a Dave Elms, at 632-6045. The Leifling Contest takes place this Sunday at J.J.Curling School at 2p.m.
