On July 14th, Kruger’s Vice President-Special Projects, Darren Pelley, will be at the Glynmill Inn to talk about the retrofit, designed to ensure the mill’s future. Now celebrating 100 years, this proposed $700M project. It will start with the modernization of the Forestry Pelley says the first step is changing the way they harvest, providing saw mills with saw logs first. Plans also include construction of a wind farm to power the mill. Meanwhile, through agreements since 2024, government has been buying electricity from Kruger’s Deer Lake Power for NL Hydro.
