Cahill takes over the role following the departure of Jennifer Ebert who has taken on a new role at RCMP National Headquarters in Ottawa.
Justice Minister Bernard Davis is welcoming the appointment of the RCMP’s 21st Commanding Officer Pat Cahill. Davis attended a change of command ceremony yesterday in St. John’s. He says he “looks forward to working with Cahill towards a shared goal of ensuring Newfoundland and Labrador is a safe place to live, work and raise families. Cahill takes over the role following the departure of Jennifer Ebert who has taken on a new role at RCMP National Headquarters in Ottawa. He says “Of all of his roles within the RCMP, being the Commanding Officer here at home brings him the most pride.” Born and raised in St. John’s Cahill brings more than 32 years of dedicated service. There are 41 RCMP detachments throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.”
