Justice Minister says RNC expansion takes time and resources

    Both the RNC and RCMP have online recruitment sessions from time to time. Hogan says the RNC hires around a dozen officers each year. 

    As the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary marks their first day of policing in Massey Drive and Mt. Moriah, work is underway to expand the jurisdiction to communities in the Bay of Islands and Pasadena. Justice Minister John Hogan announced the west coast expansion last August. He says it does take time and resources. Hogan says there is a police transformation group looking at policing and what happens in other jurisdictions. Both the RNC and RCMP have online recruitment sessions from time to time. Hogan says the RNC hires around a dozen officers each year.
