A rare bird is trying to be protected.
The town of Irishtown-Summerside will be creating a new habitat and wetlands conservation area. Deputy Mayor Peter Parsons says it’s with the Stewardship Association of Municipalities. He says the goal is to protect a rare bird, known as the Rusty Blackbird. Deputy Mayor Parsons says there will be a buffer zone around the area.
