A rare bird is trying to be protected.
The town of Irishtown-Summerside will be creating a new habitat and wetlands conservation area. Deputy Mayor Peter Parsons says it’s with the Stewardship Association of Municipalities. He says the goal is to protect a rare bird, known as the Rusty Blackbird. Deputy Mayor Parsons says there will be a buffer zone around the area.

Investigation started after remains of four dead moose found west of Corner Brook
It’s believed to have happened sometime between September 13th and October 13th in the lady Slipper Road and Gull Pond Road areas.
