Tomorrow is International Youth Day, an awareness day designed by the United Nations. The purpose is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. Shawna Decker is the Program Coordinator for Communities Building Youth Futures in Corner Brook and the Bay of Islands. She says there will be an outdoor youth vendor market tomorrow from 1-4 pm at city hall square.
Decker says these young people are local and the day is celebrated all over the world. The first International Youth Day was observed on August 12th, 2000.
