Equinor announced their decision to delay the project yesterday.
Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says the decision by Equinor to delay the Bay du Nord project was a big surprise. He says the project will bring job creation to the area and government has been working on this for some time now. Minister Parsons says it doesn’t mean the project is shelved. The opposition’s, David Brazil issued a news release yesterday asking if this would impact the confidence of other companies looking to do business here. Minister Parsons says that’s not the case and people are ready to invest billions of dollars here. He says government is not interested in give aways but will continue to work with Equinor to find a way to get the project started.
