Impaired driver caught in Stephenville without a valid licence plate

    The driver failed a roadside breath test and more tests at the detachment.

    A 56-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after Bay St. George RCMP stopped him early Friday morning in Stephenville. Around 2:00 a.m. police saw a vehicle nearly collide with another in a parking lot on Carolina Avenue. RCMP also noted the vehicle did not have a valid licence plate. The driver failed a roadside breath test and more tests at the detachment. He’s due to appear in court during June, the vehicle was impounded and his driver’s license was suspended.
