Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says while funding has been announced for a retaining wall on Curling Street, work won’t start this year. Jim Parsons says the 1.5 million dollars announced for Curling Street is welcomed, but it’s not enough and a little too late to start anything this year. He says the area on Curling Street is dangerous. Meanwhile, Mayor Parsons says there’s a simple solution to getting big projects started in time for the construction season and it has to do with getting the money on time. He says the last round of multi-year capital funding wasn’t announced until August month and he’s worried the same thing will happen this year. Mayor Parsons says the Curling Street project has been on their list of things to do for a while now.
