This event is for anyone who has lost a pet and people can buy an ornament to put their pets name on it to hang on the Tree of Memories.
The NL West SPCA is teaming up with Sunshine Kitty Rescue to host the first Rainbow Bridge Tree of Memories in Corner Brook. Janice Wells has been with Sunshine Kitty for the past 7-8 years. She has seen similar events throughout the province but came up with the idea to have it here about a year ago when her dog, Mia Daisy passed away last year. This event is for anyone who has lost a pet and people can buy an ornament to put their pets name on it to hang on the Tree of Memories. Wells says there will also be entertainment by the Sunday Night Boys, Chris and Kerry Wells. Frances Drover is the president of NL West SPCA. She says every event for the SPCA is important to be able to fundraise and they have partnered with Sunshine Kitty before. Drover says these events highlight the need and a lot of people don’t realize the number of animals out there that don't have a chance. Registration will take place between 5-7p.m. this evening at NL West SPCA on Lundrigan Drive.
