Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell says even though planning is ongoing this is a pivotal point for education in NL and we can’t afford to wait on this.
On Friday, Government released the Education Accord NL’s interim report, titled, “A Vision for the Future: Transforming and Modernizing Education.” The report outlines the work completed to-date, findings, and foundational elements that outline the vision of the final report. Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell says even though planning is ongoing this is a pivotal point for education in NL and we can’t afford to wait on this.
Education Accord NL was created in January 2024 to reimagine the education system. Co-Chair Dr. Anne Burke says the learner is at the centre of everything they do and there are many ways to make that experience better.
Co-chair Dr. Karen Goodnough says the report offers highlights and themes that will provide a pathway to generate a set of calls to action, ensuring education at all levels has the capacity to be transformative and deeply enriching. The deadline for Government to receive the final Education Accord NL report is March 31st, 2025.
