Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was in the province recently and in an interview with BayFm news, says he feels the feds are punishing the province.
The provincial government is leading a court challenge against the federal government concerning the equalization formula. Premier Andrew Furey has said the formula is wrong and needs to be fair for all of Canada. The last time he met with B.C. Premier David Eby they spoke about the issue and agreed to stand together. Meanwhile, Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was in the province recently and in an intervew with BayFm news, says he feels the feds are punishing the province.
Poilievre also plans to repeal a law that gives this province more control over oil and gas and says there needs to be more local autonomy in the fisheries. Poilievre says the seal hunt needs to be expanded to reduce the ten million population that are devouring the fish stocks.
He is continuing his tour of the Maritime provinces this week.
