The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has been undertaking phased repairs of the structures over the last number of years.

Bayfm news reached out to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure about a section of wall that is failing on the highway near Massey Drive. They issued a statement that reads, “ The department is aware of a recent failure of a section of the original steel bin walls at the Massey Drive interchange. Staff are currently monitoring the situation.

Since the original steel bin walls were installed over 30 years ago, the department has been undertaking phased repairs of the structures over the last number of years. A complete assessment of the remaining bin walls will be carried out and a tender will then be issued for the repairs."
