Driver caught doing more than double the limit in a 50 km/hr construction zone on the Port au Port Peninsula

    His vehicle was seized, license suspended and he is facing a hefty fine.

    A man was caught driving at more than double the speed limit in a construction zone on the Port au Port Peninsula. Bay St. George RCMP pulled the driver over shortly after 7:30 Tuesday morning doing 109km/hr in a 50 zone on the Main Road in Port au Port West-Aguathuna-Felix Cove. His vehicle was seized, license suspended and he is facing a hefty fine. Posted construction zone speed limits are in effect whenever signage is there, regardless of whether workers are present and visible to you.
