Council approved zoning changes, that included 55 Premier Drive, 23 and 27 Humber Road, the Massey Drive TCH area, Boland’s Avenue and Barry Place, and 649 O’Connell Drive.
A number of developments in the Corner Brook area have been given the green light by city hall. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Mayor Linda Chaisson says during the last public meeting, council approved zoning changes, that included 55 Premier Drive, 23 and 27 Humber Road, the Massey Drive TCH area, Boland’s Avenue and Barry Place, and 649 O’Connell Drive. Council also approved a 3-unit apartment building on O’Brien’s Lane and an apartment to be attached to a business on O’Connell Drive.
Meanwhile, back in 2021, a project was launched to review and update the City’s Integrated Municipal Sustainability Plan (IMSP) and Development Regulations. The plan was submitted to the provincial government in January. At last week’s council meeting, Assistant Director Aaron O’Brien was asked about a timeline now that it is in government’s hands. He says the hope is within two to three months. The IMSP will help shape the future of Corner Brook with rules and regulations for buildings and types of development and where they can go.
