Corner Brook is welcoming cruise ships today and tomorrow. The Bolette owned by Fred Olsen Cruise Line is in port today until 5:30. The vessel is carrying over 1600 passengers and more than 600 crew. Tomorrow, the Holland America Line Volendam will dock at 10 a.m. and stay until 6 p.m.  Emily Penney is a Project Administration Coordinator at the port. She  says there have been 5 calls to port so far with another 31 expected this season and this is in line with plans for future growth at the port. Penney says the last 20 years has seen significant growth at the port and there’s a team working on a feasibility study as well as a MOU with Global to create a hydrogen hub. The next cruise ship visit to Corner Brook will be the Island Princess owned by Princess cruises on August 15th. The vessel carries over 3000 passengers and 1200 crew.
