Aaron O’Brien says the city has made investments to keep up with the growth.

The transit system in Corner Brook is on track to having one of the biggest years on record. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit the city’s Director of Engineering, Aaron O’Brien says the city has made investments to keep up with the growth. He says adding two accessible buses to the system means a lot to those who need this, with some people saying they haven’t left their house in a year and are now going out every day.

On April 1st, the city launched evening and weekend transit through an on-demand service. O’Brien says this means users can catch a bus 6-11 p.m. weekdays and 9 to 5 p.m. on weekends. Passengers can download the “Blaise” app and book a ride.

In 2021, a study was conducted to determine who was using transit and what improvements were needed. O’Brien says changes with the system are the direct result of the feedback they received.
