Corner Brook mourns the loss of a retired firefighter

    Gordon Hamlyn passed at the place he loved most, on his boat called “Dreams” at the Bay of Islands Yacht Club on Sunday at the age of 66.

    A retired firefighter at the Corner Brook Fire Department has passed away. Gordon Hamlyn passed at the place he loved most, on his boat called “Dreams” at the Bay of Islands Yacht Club on Sunday at the age of 66. A family man first who loved his work family for 45 years at the Corner Brook Fire Department, he was passionate about the Toy Drive even after he retired, making Christmas special for those in need. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, on Curling Street tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. Cremation will follow on Friday. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, at 11 AM from Westside Tabernacle.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Firefighter Toy Drive through the following email cbfftoydrive@gmail.com
