Tomorrow is Community Preparedness Day and there’s a public event taking place at the Majestic Lawn in Corner Brook. It will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., and there will be on hand demonstrating life-saving equipment as well as a BBQ. Corner Brook Fire Department Captain Justin Martineau joined Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit to talk about the important things homeowners can do to be protected like clearing vegetation near the home. Martineau says they have teamed up with FireSmart Canada and the Bay of Islands Search and Rescue for tomorrow’s event. At the Majestic Lawn tomorrow afternoon, Sparky will be on hand for pictures with the kids and folks will have an opportunity to learn about ways they can reduce the risk of a fire, not just in their homes and on their property, but in their neighborhood.
