On April 9th just after 9 a.m., police tried to stop an off-road vehicle on the Main Road in Oregans. The operator was not wearing a helmet, refused to stop and fled from police at a high rate of speed. The next day, RCMP arrested a 19-year-old man in Millville.
Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP and Traffic Services West took three vehicles off the road and laid charges during a traffic initiative late last week. On April 9th just after 9 a.m., police tried to stop an off-road vehicle on the Main Road in Oregans. The operator was not wearing a helmet, refused to stop and fled from police at a high rate of speed. The next day, RCMP arrested a 19-year-old man in Millville.
Nearly two hours later, police noticed a known suspended driver operating a vehicle on Main Road in Millville. The 43-year-old man was ticketed and the vehicle was not insured.
The next day at approximately 5:15 p.m., police stopped a vehicle in the Doyles area with expired registration. The 30-year-old male driver, a 30-year-old man, was ticketed.
Then, just after 9:30 p.m., RCMP stopped a vehicle with expired registration in Cape Anguille and the 59-year-old man was driving with a suspended licence, and showed clear signs of impairment. At the detachment he blew twice the legal limit and will appear in court during June to face impaired operation charges.
