Looking to form a team of about a dozen people at this point.

Preparations are underway as St. John’s gets ready to host the  2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards for the first time since 2008. There will be a week-long celebration of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canadian folk music that will include showcases and all ages events. Chair Wade Pinhorn says this will be big, probably the biggest ever. He says the next step is to form a committee of at least a dozen people. Pinhorn says the Canadian Folk Music Awards will take place April 4th to the 7th  next year with a number of events leading up to the awards. He says some examples include fiddle workshops and workshops for youth.
