Search and Rescue volunteers haul out huge amount of trash
The city of Corner Brook is sending “a big shout out to the Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue - BOISAR This after the group hauled out a huge load of trash from Ladyslipper Road over the weekend. Shawn Street of BOISAR, says they hauled out more garbage that was not in the picture, like couches. He says the amount was unreal and people are probably dumping there because there is a fee at Wildcove. The city’s facebook page says, “It would be nice if stuff like this didn't make its way into our forests, or even if the coffee cups didn't make their way into our ditches. Not only is it destructive to the natural environment that makes living here so special, when volunteers aren't helping pick it up, it takes up the valuable time and resources of our City staff. For example, the tires in the picture could have easily been dropped off at any local garage for proper disposal -- way closer than Ladyslipper Road!”
