Black bear sighted in Sunnyslope area on Saturday, pet owners beware

    Shortly before 3:15 a.m., residents reported the bear after they heard it checking out their trash cans. 

    Corner Brook RNC were called out to a black bear sighting in the Valleyview Road area early Saturday morning. Shortly before 3:15 a.m., residents reported the bear after they heard it checking out their trash cans.  Patrols were made and the bear went into a nearby wooded area. Police issued a warning for pet owners to beware of the possible threat.
