The show’s Guest Quinn Jesso says it started in 2007. Jesso says Pink Shirt Day, which is often held during the end of February, has a different but similar goal.

Pink and blue are more than just colors in a crayon box. Less than 100 years ago, pink was considered more suited for boys due to its closeness with red. Blue being more passive was for girls. Each year, on the second Wednesday of April, we celebrate International Pink Day.  On last week’s edition of the Plain Truth, the show’s Guest Quinn Jesso says it started in 2007. Jesso says Pink Shirt Day, which is often held during the end of February, has a different but similar goal. It’s all about fostering a community of kindness.
