HopeNL is paying tuition in Uganda.
Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce is more than a politician. The 30 year, now Independant, member says he worked for about a year on getting the recently approved cataract surgery expenses covered for seniors. Joyce is also involved with an orphanage in Africa through a group called Hope NL. Dr. French and Joyce are helping with health care and education. Joyce says the rest of the money went towards 1200 pairs of shoes. Joyce says when they were there this past December, Dr.French also worked in clinics to help treat people in Uganda with Jiggers, a tropical parasitic skin disease that has killed many Ugandans.
