    BAY FM, a new name, new location, same hometown sound

    BAY FM is hosting an open house this Thursday starting at 11am, 1 Cobb Lane, in back of the Glynmill Inn.

    June 19th will be known as Bay FM’s birthday! The announcement was made live this morning at our new location at 1 Cobb Lane, in back of the Glynmill Inn. Station Manager Lenny Benoit and Board chair/ best technician ever, Kody Gardner have been busy this past week, and around 2:20 am Saturday, the seamless transition happened without losing a beat on air, and with a whole new name. Kody says Bay of Islands Radio started 13 years ago with professor Ivan Emke at Grenfell. Kody says it was as a partnership with port secondary students. Kody says the new location is a big change from a tiny DJ booth. In 2015, they moved into Brook Street when the city offered the space. BAY FM is hosting an open house this Thursday starting at 11am.
