68-year-old Joseph Benoit is facing a long list of charges after a search of a Barachois Brook home. RCMP Cpl Jolene Garland says a team went in with a warrant on Wednesday. She says this included officers from the West District General Investigation Section, with assistance from Bay St. George Detachment, the RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West and RCMP Police Dogs Services. Cpl. Garland says they entered the home, Benoit was arrested, and brought to the Stephenville detachment. She says inside the home, they found cocaine, hydromorphone and codeine, as well as nearly $4,000 cash, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, illegal tobacco, and other drug trafficking items. Two women were also arrested but released without charges.
