Autism@Work is a free employment program that prepares skilled people on the autism spectrum to find meaningful employment—and prepares employers to hire, support, and retain them. Sherry Tucker is an Employment Engagement Specialist and says they recently celebrated their 1st anniversary here. Through tailored toolkits, coaching, and ongoing support, they help match workers with employers who are open to hiring differently. Tucker says she has a different role helping employers only through gaining more confidence and the tools they need. She says some employers are struggling, they might find this challenging, may even be afraid and that is okay. For more information go to autismatwork.ca
