At this week’s public meeting, Corner Brook city hall approved another change order for the Deep Gulch Culvert Replacement Project at a cost of over $91K. This is the 26th change which brings the total of all the increases to more than $3M. Councllor Donna Luther asked if there is a limit to the number of change orders on projects. Assistant Director of Engineering, Aaron O’Brien says this is a housekeeping item.

While the city has capital reserves to allow for cost overruns in each budget, O’Brien says part of the tendering process for projects doesn’t include the actual quantity used.

The city approved the change order to be paid to JCL Investments Inc.
