SIRT-NL now confirms the man involved in the June 12th police shooting in St. John’s as 38-year-old Omar Mohammed. Director Michael King says they have been unable to reach the man’s family but information has been passed on to Interpol. SIRT NL was able to confirm the man’s identity with his closest friend and roommate, and have also reached out to members of the Sudanese community. More information will be released once the Director has concluded the investigation.
