26 schools in NL to get Safe, Caring, and Inclusive grants

    Elwood High school in Deer Lake, Jakeman All Grade in Trout River and Gros Morne Academy in Rocky Harbour will get grants.

    Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Education has announced the recipients of this year’s Safe, Caring and Inclusive Schools Special Initiatives Grants. Government is providing $12,500 for these grants which will go to 26 schools this year. Elwood High school in Deer Lake, Jakeman All Grade in Trout River and Gros Morne Academy in Rocky Harbour will get grants. Schools are recognized for their efforts in achieving safe, caring and inclusive learning environments, promoting positive school climates, and sustaining safe and inclusive communities that celebrates equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility. Minister Howell says “Our schools strive to provide safe, inclusive and caring environments for students and promote positive learning spaces for them.”
