$140 million being invested into affordable housing

    The Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development broke down highlights of Budget 2023 in the house of assembly today.

    John Abott detailed how government intends to spend $140 million on affordable housing. . He says $70 million  will be spent over three years for a new Affordable Housing Program, to construct over 850 rental homes. $25 million will go towards emergency shelters and  transition homes.  $17 million will be used for the repair of provincial social housing. $10 million in grants will be available for  low income homeowners and  $30 million is headed for a services hub for homeless in the Happy Valley – Goose Bay area.
