    Our local radio station has a rare opening for a successful Advertising Account Executive. We'd welcome a candidate who has a passion for selling and servicing our growing family of local businesses who know that radio advertising works - especially on a station that provides great local news and information.

    Please note there are two positions available. One ideal candidate would prospect and service clients throughout our local market in communities in the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley, while another would be strategically located in St. John's and form relationships with medium to large-sized businesses who operate provincially.

    In short - this position is all about presenting local business owners and managers creative radio and digital advertising solutions designed to increase the awareness of their business and in-turn increase sales and profits.

    The ideal candidate is one who has a passion for selling and a proven record of success with prospecting, closing, and retaining new advertisers to establish a diverse and established client list. You must be capable of presenting articulately, enthusiastically and persuasively in person, on the phone, or in writing. Your core responsibility will be to increase our advertiser base.

    Prior experience in sales is not a requirement but it is an asset. We are looking for the right individual who wants to support homegrown radio and become a part of the local business community. Becoming a part of the local business community is much more than just doing day-to-day business for 100.1 BayFM - it means being visible by attending events, getting involved, and helping the community grow and prosper. 

    This position allows you to get as involved as you want with flexible hours that fits your schedule. There is no minimum commitment, making this position attractive for those looking for part-time work. 


    • Work closely with customers to optimize their advertising budget.

    • Prepare and execute dynamic presentations and creative pitches.

    • Networking, cold calling, and following up with potential clients. attending seminars and local events.

    • Adhere to strict sales procedures set down by management. Prepare and submit regular weekly follow-through update reports.

    • Understand, adapt, and contribute to the evolution of our sales reporting procedures.


    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Office suite.

    • Excellent writing and communication skills.

    • Ability to learn CRM software such as Radio Workflow.


    Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time, Permanent

    Salary: Commission basis only (negotiable %)

    Schedule: Flexible

    Experience: Sales - 1 year (preferred)

    Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred)
