There’s a Meet and Greet in Corner Brook this evening for anyone interested in the Bay du Nord project. The estimated $14B deepwater offshore oil development is in an area about 500 kms east of St.John’s and at full operation, it is expected to produce between 160,000-175,00 barrels per day. This evening’s chat will take place from 5-7 o’clock on the Glynmill Inn Pond Trail. Conor Curtis is with Sierra Club Canada and says this will be a very informal event. He says there are concerns about using tax dollars in this project in a world that is transitioning away from oil and gas.
