RCMP Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says police located the vehicle in a parking lot on West Street and noticed three people inside with open cans of beer.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing a police officer in St. Anthony Tuesday afternoon. RCMP got a call from a concerned citizen shortly before 2p.m. about people in a parked vehicle that appeared to be drinking alcohol. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says police located the vehicle in a parking lot on West Street and noticed three people inside with open cans of beer. RCMP asked everyone to stay inside the car but the Black Duck Cove woman got out of the car after repeatedly identifying herself as the driver. After getting a warning about that, she once again got out of the car and was placed under arrest.
O’Donaghey says her vehicle was seized and the woman was also issued tickets roadside test was conducted and she was given an automatic seven-day driver’s licence suspension, plus a ticket for the open container of alcohol and her vehicle was seized by police.
She is due to appear in court April 7th.
